Sometimes when watching an oversexed music video full of hip-pumping and leg smoothing, you tend to wonder about the behind-the-scenes nature of the person front and center. In the case of Traci Lords (actress, singer, producer, and most notably, former porn star), you don't have to have too much imagination. All you need is a little patience and some Google. A little patience might also be necessary to make it through her music video, which is called "Last Drag" but appears to also be all types of drags on top of that.
Lords musical career is far from just beginning, and this isn't her first music video either. Her debut album in 1995 almost topped the Billboard dance chart with a #2 hit called "Control." You might remember it for the key placement in the movie adaptation of Mortal Kombat (classic) or for its James Bond/weirdo themed video.
She's also somewhat well known for her special brand of exercise videos. No, not that kind. Think Jane Fonda, but with more crotch shots than you'd be comfortable watching with your parents.
In the interest of fairness, Traci Lords had a very tumultuous childhood and an even tougher battle against the legal system for entering the world of pornography and making 100+ videos before she was 18. Since then, she's certainly tilted towards legitimacy, appearing in "real" films, TV, working on her music career and even releasing an autobiography called Underneath It All, which was almost certainly not inspired by the No Doubt song of the same name.
Now the original Spandex Honey is back with a new song and a new video, which apart from infuriating the Truth campaign, playing off the popularity of dated hits like Moulin Rouge (it didn't work for Burlesque, Traci!) and sounding like a college student's best 2006 Britney Spears impression final project, it's great!
