Guitar and vocals duo The Kills are back with a new video for their stripped down, bluesy track "Baby Says." The video follows a cross dresser in love with his nightly rituals. His routine starts with a shave and a little cocktail slinging, all while slowly getting into his night walking threads. Traveling from party to party, shooting pool, doing handspringsit's a wild night where the alcohol eventually takes its' toll. Inter-cut are looks of the band, looking androgynous themselves, playing a blue-lit house party in rock star fashion. Everyone is rocking out and swaying as they strum their guitars looking like grungy greasers in black sunglasses.
The track is a cut off of Blood Pressures, The Kills latest release. The simple, delayed guitar of "Baby Says," mixed with equally basic bass and drums allows the listener to focus in on the songwriting, and its' tale of a lonely soul looking for love. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince's harmony and melody give the song a grace that off-sets the unexpected nature of the video. Give it a watch down below.
