Oh boy oh boy. You're going to be thanking yourself for plopping yourself in front of the computer today. That's because the day belongs to Brooklyn's most loveable of synth-pop punksters,
Matt and Kim. The bodacious duo's show at McCarren Park Pool this past July was pretty much one of the best times we had all summer long. We'll have the video proof of that a little later today. In honor of the video, we're also fixing to give away the most unique, far out piece of rock and roll memorabilia we've ever gotten our grubby little hands on. Again...more on that as the day unfolds.
For now we'd like to direct your attention to the band's new single "Daylight". Prepped for Green Label Sound in anticipation of the band's long awaited second full-length album
Grand (due January 20th on FADER Label), the song's a plunky piano number that takes the engrained, synth-punk tendencies of the band's formative years into sparser, yet equally cheeky new directions. The track also brings with it an awfully adorable video treatment in which, as usual, M&K can't stop smiling.
Finally, the band is putting the finishing touches on their current tour. They'll also be heading out in support of Cut/Copy later this winter. Check out the entire slate of dates below. -
