Julian Casablancas announced via Twitter that the long awaited fourth album from The Strokes has been completely recorded. Pending a few months of mixing, we may have it in our hands as early as mid 2011, which is significantly later than anyone would have hoped.

The album is being produced by Joe Chicarelli (White Stripes, Minus the Bear). After seeing the band at Lollapalooza, I can say with firsthand knowledge that they still have the same exact attitude they did all those years ago, so let's hope the songs reflect that indifferently-cool tendency more in perceived aesthetic and less in "we don't care about this record". -joe puglisi
