Taylor Swift fans moaned, groaned and cried when the country-turned-pop-mega-star almost inexplicably pulled her entire catalog from Spotify just as she dropped her first country-free pop album, 1989.

While the big question hung in the air, "Uhhh dafuq did she do that for?" Taylor came forward to smooth ruffled feathers and explain her decision to yank all those boy bashing, girl power pop anthems we all hate to admit we love.

"The music industry itself is changing so quickly, that everything new, like Spotify, all feels to me a bit like a grand experiment," she said. "I'm not willing to contribute my lifes work to an experiment that I don't feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists, and creators of this music. And I just don't agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free."

Fair enough, but we're still fucking bummed.
