The Polyphonic Spree's Golden Reminder

In The Polyphonic Spree's new video (which we're premiering today) for "You're Golden" what's normal and mundane takes a surreal turn when cutie-pie kids get cast in what are normally boring, grown-up situations. The result is a story that's vivid and cartoonish...a vision that seems at odds with the sweet, sentimental dedication at the heart of the song. "This song was written for my daughter Stella, a coming of age if you will," The Spree's charismatic leader Tim DeLaughter recently told us. "It's not easy growing up. It's not easy getting older either. Sometimes it's nice to hear some encouragement from an outside perspective. I think that's what I was going for." So, while life, like this video, might seem weird on the surface, it's what's inside that really counts.
