MP3: Oh Land

Everyone always seems to bring their a-game when covering The National. Oh Land strips away the guitars at the core of "Bloodbuzz Ohio" to rekindle the emotional weight of Matt Berninger's baritone using her digital toolkit. The result is something both fragile and electric. The futuristic construction trades momentum for aeration, and Nanna's glassy vocals seem to melt over the tinkering of her synthetics, highlighting the emotional complexity of the original while giving the cover that distinctly Oh Land flavor. Basically, GOOD COVER!

Grab it for yourself below.

Oh Land's second album is in the pipes, impacting in her native Denmark and due for a UK release in November. We can't wait to hear more stateside. In the meantime, check out her visit to our roof.
