Among the masses of rave reviews for Arcade Fire's long-awaited record, Reflektor
, there are a few detractors who have condemned the group for being the coolest band on the block. And it's hard to argue after watching the group market their release through countless famous friend name-drops. From their post-SNL
Roman Coppola-directed celeb showoff "Here Comes the Night Time"
to David Bowie's single sentence echo on the album's title track, Arcade Fire hasn't been shy about showcasing their cool-ass crew.
The latest Reflektor Super Friends acquisition comes via the familiar face of director Spike Jonze. As the creative director of this Sunday's inaugural YouTube Music Awards
, Jonze will be creating live music videos for the ceremony's performers, namely Arcade Fire. This isn't the band's first run-in with Jonze as they first worked together on the short film Scenes From The Suburbs
(below), and have since worked on the score of the director's upcoming feature film Her
Scenes From The Suburbs from Katherine Louise on Vimeo.
The YouTube Music Awards are scheduled to air on Sunday (11/3) at 6 PM EST.
