Zach Condon popped in to
Late Night for his second after-hours appearance of the month as
Beirut. This time around, he played the upbeat "Santa Fe." Truth be told, we prefer the chorus harmonies of "A Candle's Fire", but the horn riffs on "Fe" are pretty snappy as well. Genuinely surprised Quest didn't try to squeeze in some auxiliary percussion, but hey, he can't back 'em all up. Maybe he didn't meet the dress code?
Check out "Santa Fe" and Condon's floppy hair below.
The Rip Tide is out. And be sure to check out our
full concert video with Beirut a few years back at Music Hall of Williamsburg, where he plays one of the
Rip Tide tunes ("East Harlem") more than two years before it was released.
