Baeble Music's sold out
Bands + Brews with R&B star Mario
, rapper OnCue
, and R&B singer/dancer Kayla Brianna
took place last weekend at The Bell House in Brooklyn, NY and boy, was it an event to remember. To say that it was a night of frantic fangirling and unapologetic sensuality would be an understatement.
We kicked off the night with Kayla Brianna
, who came prepared with a pair of glamorous dancers and glitzy outfits made up of black leather and sparkles. She hit the stage with effortlessly-good dance moves and hyped up the crowd with her oh-so-catchy-and-relatable singles "Work For It" and "Honest." When we visited Brianna in the green room before the show, she proved to be one of the sweetest gals ever as we bonded over our favorite Snapchat filters (her favorite is the dog, a classic!). There was an entire paparazzi-like group of photographers taking photos of her and her girl crew, who were one fierce bunch.

Next up was OnCue
, a rapper born in Connecticut who now resides in Brooklyn. He brought a slightly darker energy, yet still maintained hype levels which were at an all time high. He delivered lyrics that were heavy and emotional. He kept the crowd interested with his compelling storytelling, which made us feel as if we were already close friends. He also played our current favorite song "3AM," which apparently is his too, because when we went backstage to talk to him about the show, he told us that that was the track he was most excited to perform. For someone with such outspoken lyrics and dramatic delivery, he was surprisingly super soft-spoken when we got to know him one-on-one. We asked him what his favorite filter was as well, and he liked the one that puts a permanent frown on your face (once again, another classic), is that why his songs are a little sad?
The night was closed out with a highly-anticipated set from Mario, and needless to say, he exceeded expectations. He brought a full live band and he emitted vibes that were a mix of Miguel, Usher, Chris Brown, and even a dash of Frank Ocean. The entire Baeble staff along with the fans managed to be in a constant state of awe for the entire hour. "He is SO smooth! He is SUCH a lady's man. Is he going to take off his shirt?! Oh, he's about to do it..."
are all things we said to one another at points during the performance. There was one fan in particular who was (somehow) swooning harder than everyone else in the crowd, and Mario noticed. Her friends would point Mario over to her and she would blush and shyly laugh. We were almost afraid she was about to cry. When Mario saw her reactions, he came over and looked directly into her eyes for a *very extended period of time* and sang lovingly. Pretty sure that woman's night was made. Later in the set, Mario's shirt came off. YUP.
Bye, bye shirt. You were nice, but definitely not as fun to look at. Mario sported dangerously low-rise pants and then dove into his hits "Let Me Love You" and "Break Up," and the crowd went into a frenzy. After the show, we wondered, "Is he really this smooth all the time or is it just an onstage act?
We quickly found out that, nope, this is definitely not an act. Mario is just that
good. After we bonded a bit with the singer, he once again lost his shirt and we lost our professionalism:
Overall, this might have been our craziest Bands + Brews yet. With a change of venue and a completely sold out show, it was naturally a success and we can't wait to do it again. Oh, and you know
we captured all of the performances on camera, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the next Bands + Brews happening in November as well as the live concerts with Mario, OnCue, and Kayla Brianna, which will drop on our site soon.
