Maybe it's just me, but my school never had a chart topping pop star come and sing at my school dances! Charli XCX gave a room full of highschoolers the time of their life when she gave a surprised performance at a homecoming dance at Aspire Pacific Academy in California. The chart topper, only four years out of high school herself, tore up the stage with songs like "I Love It", "Fancy" and "Boom Clap" before manning the DJ booth.
Hailing from England, Charli was excited to perform at the school saying, "Homecoming dances and proms are an American thing I've always been very fascinated with because all of my favorite movies end with a prom or something like that".
The performance was sponsored by Ubisof as a promotion for their new game, Just Dance 2015, which features some of Charli's tracks. They chose the small charter school for its commitment to the performing arts and higher education. They treated the students doughnuts and milkshakes before, a red carpet, and a whole lot of "Just Dance" swag, but many of the students were just excited to snap a selfie with the singer who donned bright red sunglasses and matching lipstick. Check out some of the pics that made it onto twitter:
