Sky Ferreira Honored Elliott Smith With A Painful Cover

    Last night, numerous artists flocked to Glasslands in Brooklyn to honor the 10-year anniversary of iconic singer-songwriter Elliott Smith's passing. One of the many musicians who occupied the stage to perform a cover of Smith's classics was 'model-singer' Sky Ferreira who sang "A Distorted Reality Is Now a Necessity to Be Free" (From a Basement on the Hill) while her boyfriend Zachary Cole Smith (DIIV) strummed alongside. We've gotten on Ferreira's case in the past following her drug bust and busty album cover, but this Elliott Smith tribute is not only hard to listen to, but it's difficult to watch. I understand that she was only 11 years old when Elliott Smith was killed, but you'd think if she'd pay respect by at least learning the words to the song without needing a lyrics sheet.
