Comic books have been saturating our media for several years now, with superheroes coming to life via film and TV. Now, it appears super-humans are making the jump to your computer screen via the new music video for M83's single "Midnight City," (which sounds suspiciously like a playground for heroes and villains to duke it out anyway).
The video follows some gifted youngsters exploring their telekinetic abilities. They throw tires, solve Rubik's cubes, and set the sun with just a simple flick of their hands. The glowing eyes at the end of the video exude a creepy Children Of The Corn vibe. You know, usual comic-y stuff.
The track itself, off of the band's latest release Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, features the heavy, glossy synths that make M83 stand out from their contemporaries. The fuzzed out layers of instrumentation give the song a depth and meaning that the video is able to match, and the detached vocals suit the moodiness and angst of the X-Man-ish children. Watch some super-kids be super creepy down below.
