No one can say David Letterman is known for his inhibitions. Over the years he's racked up some feuds (most notably with Jay Leno and Oprah),admitted to having affairs, and was blackmailed, but even during these less than funny moments, David has always kept his cool. Then last night happened.

Letterman requested that musical guests, Foo Fighters, perform their song, "Miracle", for a web exclusive video. He explains the intimate relationship that he shares with the band, "These gentlemen, we've known each other for a long, long time now. They have crossed my path in ways unexpected and expected, and, as a result, each and every year they grow to mean more to me as human beings and talented musical artists".

Alright, that was sweet of you, David, but then he tells a story about his 4-year-old son and him taking a ski lesson for the first time together, and your heartstrings don't stand a chance. The video of that moment is set to this song, and Dave explains, "It's the second song of theirs that will always have great meaning to me for the rest of my life".

At the end of the performance an emotional Letterman comes back on stage, but, true to form, he shares in a few laughs when he recalls, "the final shot of the video is my kid in the lodge cramming french fries into his face". Too frickin' cute.
