This weekend we'll be hosting our annual CMJ Music Marathon showcaseThe Launch Pad
at Spike Hill in Brooklyn. Sorting through the massive CMJ lineup to plan your own excursions can be a daunting and highly stressful process. To save you the trouble, and quite frankly, to save your lives (stress kills!), we've compiled an addictive group of some of the most exciting acts playing the festival, giving you 12 perfect reasons to spend all weekend with us...CMJ badge nor bucks be damned! This party is totally free and open to the public. RSVP HERE
To get you acclimated to our divine lineup, we'll be introducing two acts per day leading all the way up to our first Friday performance. Today, we present to you two of the weekend's performers, Claire and Bad Suns.
Friday October 18th - 11PM
Your Friday night buzz will get the jumpy, electro-powered pick-me up when much talked-about, German quintet Claire (that's a group, not a solo artist...don't mess that one up) peps up our little Brooklyn shindig. The band's new EP Broken Promise Land
is a heavenly slice of gleaming synth pop, led by singer Josie Claire Burkle and that chalky club croon of hers'. Supreme bliss can be yours...all you need to do is be there by 11 on Friday. Have a listen to her first single, "Games", below. RSVP HERE
Saturday October 19th - 7PM
If you're aching to be one of the first to hear a tune that'll probably be splattered all over the radio dial next summer, take a spin or three through Bad Suns' "Cardiac Arrest". Good, right? The kind of thing you could play over and over? That's what we thinkand its apparently what the good gang at Vagrant Records thinks as well. The label recently snatched up the teenage Los Angelino, and for good reason. These are big, shimmery, stadium-ready rock tunes. If you like them (you do, you know you do) get a leg up on your favorite new band by coming out to The Launch Pad this Saturday night at 7PM. RSVP HERE
