We've already let you in on the details of our CMJ showcase,
The Launch Pad, featuring a handful of great bands from all over the world. Now we want to let you get to know those bands a little better. Today, it's time to get a little closer to Admiral Fallow and Barcelona.
As for
Barcelona (pictured above), this band brings the dreary expanse of Seattle (their hometown) into expressive acoustic rock 'n' roll for a unique sonic landscape. Their sophomore album,
Not Quite Yours displays vivid songwriting, intricate bass lines, and a penchant for sweeping arrangements. These guys are not to be missed.
Admiral Fallow is a folk rock band out of Glasgow, Scotland that's been building their song-base for a few years and now they truly sound ready for the spotlight. Their music has the characteristics that define British folk -- stomping percussion, expressive vocals -- but it's how they expand on the cliches that separate them. With indie pop creativity and varied instrumentation, Admiral Fallow is at once captivatingly fun and touchingly intimate. See what I mean below.
So, you excited yet? Please register for Day 1, Day 2, or both below.
