It's been a couple of years since we've heard from The Fray, the piano powered pop-rockers best known for penning the song "Over My Head (Cable Car)", the tear-inducing "How To Save A Life", and immortalizing the popular TV show placement as a gold-plated diaper strategy. Their self-titled second record contained more pop-jerky, "You Found Me" and the huge ballad "Never Say Never". Now, after a few members of the band experienced some drastic life changes, they are prepping their next release, said to be somewhat grittier. Their new single "Heartbeat" crept up on the web yesterday as an aperitif to their third LP, Scars and Stories, due out early next year, and it sounds like the same old Fray to me. See if you can hear the stadium ringing out with this one.

Scares and Stories is due in February 2012, but keep checking back for more Frayppetizers.
