Ten Days. Thats it. Ten dainty little days
In an announcement that made jaws the world over collectively crack open on the ground in one foul snap,
Radiohead the globes greatest rock band announced that not only is their new album,
In Rainbows, complete, but that fans need not muddle through months upon months of excruciating anticipation in order to hear it. No, the album will in fact be independently released, via download on the bands
Website, starting Oct. 10th. Not only that, but the band is leaving just how much their fans want to pay for
In Rainbows, up to them. Me? I paid 4 quid
I know, cheap, cheap, cheap. But word is, the album will also probably get a real physical release sometime in 2008, and Ill definitely need it sitting next to all my other Radiohead albums.
For the fan not willing to wait until 2008 for a physical piece, consider this rather costly option. In addition to releasing
In Rainbows as a download, Radiohead have also compiled a Discbox. For roughly 80 bucks, expect to receive the new album on both CD and 2 X 12 heavyweight vinyl, a second, enhanced CD containing more new songs, along with digital artwork and photographs, additional artwork and lyric books, as well as the 10/10 download.
