Lana Del Rey
is a bit aloof, kinda weird, wildy talented, effortlessly gorgeous, and is currently riding high with a Golden Globe nomination for Tim Burton's Big Eyes
movie title track.
Adding to the list is a highly anticipated third studio album, which she told Grazia France
will have a strong jazzy influence," begging the question where she finds the the fuel
for her musical genius.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times
, Lana opened up about the songwriting process for "Big Eyes" and where she travels to spark inspiration.
"When writing music, my favorite place to travel is in my imagination," she shared. "So having a movie like this makes it easy to go there. I can imagine another layer, what happened to Margaret [Keane, the artist played by Amy Adams], how excited she was in the beginning, how she thought she found a father for her daughter. And it turned out to be a nightmare. It's a great story to build a song around."
Lana's new yet-to-be-titled new album is slated to drop in late August.
