It's easy to wish the kinds of things you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy...on Chris Brown. He famously beat, bit, and bloodied Rihanna at a pre-Grammy party back in '09, rearranged a Good Morning America dressing room (shirtless!) after being asked one too many questions about his haymaking habits, cleared out an NYC nightclub when he and his boys didn't like the way Drake was looking at them, oh, and lets face it, the dude basically copped Usher's (or maybe Sisqo's?) style. In short, he's an asshole...bonafide. Last night Brown was once again keeping the local precinct busy...another ticker for America's most sick and twisted pop star's rap sheet.
Oh. Great. Frank Ocean. Now CB's messing with nice guy, Frank Ocean. Except, here's the thing. Snooping around the internet this A.M., it might
not have been Mr. Brown who got things started this time. Per the authority on such things, we take you to TMZ
Chris was at Westlake Studio in the L.A. area listening to one of the artists he represents. The sources say as Chris went to leave, Frank Ocean and his crew blocked Chris from leaving. The sources say Frank said, "This is my studio, this is my parking spot."
"This is my
studio? This is my
parking spot?" Oh Frank... If it's true, it's not a good look for someone who is currently enjoying darling status on all levels of media.
Anyway, the story goes CB went to shake Frank's hand, only to be attacked by his people. All told six people were involved and, by the time the cops arrived, CB fled the scene (victims don't usually do that kind of thing).
Police are still investigating. We're obviously not condoning violence here, but if Ocean did get a few shots in, well when a man walks around with the kind of completely fucked reputation Brown's been flaunting these past few years, some sort of comeuppance is probably coming his way.
For his part, Ocean did not appear to escape unscathed.
We'll have to see where this story goes in the next few days.
As for those Grammys Ocean refers to, well, to be completely honest, we're awfully excited about 'em around here! The 55th Annual Awards will take place Sunday February 10th on CBS. Expect to see a wealth of coverage on the site over the next few weeks.
