In September of 2009, a group of lucky people at The Echo were treated to an interesting live performance by Emily Wells called "Symphony #6: Fair the Well & the Requiem Mix". Featuring a violin, a crooning voice, and raw talent, Emily recorded and mixed the song right there on stage.

This unique approach to a live performance is pretty captivating, but Wells is no stranger to such combinations. Beginning her musical affair with a childhood mastery of the violin, she has brought her love of both classical and hip hop music into her own creations. Her youthful years were atypical; she frequented jazz clubs most nights and fell into irreversible love with the talent of live music. Thus, featuring this ensemble of genres on stage is just as important to her as the recorded product, and she does not fail to deliver.

Be sure to check out her signature sound that distinctly mixes classical and folk with a coating of hip-hop within this live performance.
