FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE

The UK has provided us with some of the best music of all time. It may come then as no surprise that the ultra talented Florence Welch is from Camberwell in South London. Florence and her band, which is known as 'the Machine', make some really soulful and beautiful indie pop. A minute into "Dog Days Are Over" you realize that you are listening to something special. It isn't just her amazing and powerful voice that makes her music so good but the songs themselves have this epic quality to them that force you to stop whatever you are doing and listen. She has received praise from some high places including the BBC and NME and was the Brit Awards Critic's Choice for 2009. All of this at the mere age of 21. An absolutely incredible talent that I suspect we will be hearing a lot more from in the near future. Keep an ear out.
