While it may only be January, news from the California desert has sent visions of the sweat induced 08 festival season a dancing in my head. And with the official roll out of the
Coachella bill having just been announced, I swear I can feel a massive sun burn coming on already.
The annual flock of folks to the Empire Polo Fields in Indio California has produced plenty of memorable weekends since its inception, and this year should be no exception. Slated to take place April 25-27, highlights from this years festival include performances from
Animal Collective, The National, Fatboy Slim, Hot Chip, M.I.A, Kraftwerk, the Streets, Justice, Spirtualized, Gogol Bordello, Justice, newly reunited acts like
The Breeders, Portishead, and
The Verve, and a performance of
Dark Side of the Moon by
Roger Waters. Check out the
official website for the entire line up.
Cant make it to the desert this year? Not a problem for those east coasters who reside in the vicinity of NYC. In addition to organizing Coachella, AEG Live and Goldenvoice will be brining it all east this summer. Expected to set up shop at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, the
All Points West Festival will give east coasters a three day festival of their very own. While no performers have officially been announced, rumors concerning the likes of Bjork, The Flaming Lips, Sigur Ros, and Radiohead abound. All Points West is scheduled to take place August 8th through the 10th.
