t.g.i. mixtape 92 curated by craig fox of the greenhornes

Greenhornes frontman Craig Fox has an extensive and obscure knowledge of sixties rock and pyschadelia. We know this because after he delivered his mixtape tracklist to us, we couldn't find half the songs. Doing the best we could in the digital age, searching for translations of old, obscure vinyl, we had to shorten this mixtape a few cuts. But it's also one of the coolest, most stylized mixtapes we've had since Mixtape 1988. So grab a blacklight, pass the pipe, and enjoy.

Artists without links to homepages means that, well, I couldn't find any. Leave leads in the comments!

    1. "Please Please Girl" - The Flamin' Groovies - Shake Some Action

A fast, catchy little song that holds my attention at two minutes and two seconds. Always been a fan of the Flaming Groovies and Shake Some Action is becoming my favorite of theirs.

    2. "Barnabus Swain" - Timebox - The Perfumed Garden

An excellent ballad that remained unreleased until it ended up on volume 4 of the The Perfumed Garden compilation. I dont understand why this one wasnt issued as an A side immediately after it was recorded, but what do I know.

    3. "Boogie" - UFO - UFO 1

This one will blow up your stereo into bits.

    4. "Suspicious Look In Your Eyes" - The Hollies - For Certain Because...

Probably my favorite Hollies song and there are a lot to choose from.

    5. "Come Out Of Her" - Fraction - Moon Ritual

    Creepy, satanic ritual stuff.

    6. "True Blue" - Rod Stewart - Never A Dull Moment

The Rod at his best. Great backing track with Rod killing the vocals.

    7. "Don't You Ever Think I Cry" - Rockin' Horse - Yes It Is

Beautiful song off a lost album called Yes It Is.

    8. "Treadmill" - Steel Mill - Green Eyed God

Heavy song off of an even heavier album.

    LOST TRACKS:

    9. "Benashaw Glen" - Mourning Sun

Obscure early 70s country rocker that puts me in a good mood. I feel like Im at Benashaw Glen even though Ive never been there.

    10. "Funny" - Human Zoo

    Killer fuzz guitar breakdown.
