Arguably, the most fun part of watching Yo La Tengo live (or on video, in this case), is seeing them go from thrashing their way through a high-speed distortion fest to crooning an intimate love song at just a few decibels. Last night's performance of "Ohm"" and "I'll Be Around" (off their new album, Fade) on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon will give you a taste of both, along with an idea of how Ira Kaplan gets his guitar to make those strange, delicious sounds. With enthusiastic percussive participation by Fred Armisen and Kid Millions, this rendition of "Ohm" looks and sounds like they're enjoying the new material as much as we are. Take us with you, Yo La Tengo!
