Here's a bit of new music news that we were not expecting today. Violent Femmes will be releasing their first record in 15 years. The group that made "Blister in the Sun" an alt-rock anthem in the early 80s are back with new material from their upcoming record, We Can Do Anything. They've shared the first single, "Memory," and it is undeniably a Violent Femmes track with low, strumming guitar and a chorus readymade for drunken singalongs. That's not a critique. There's an egalitarian appeal to Violent Femme's brand of bar room indie anthems, and we can't wait to hear the rest of their new material.
