Marilyn Manson Claims He Coined The Music Term 'Grunge'

I claim I started "DAFUQ," the shortened version of "WTF"...when really I heard it from some guy who hung out with Yolandi Visser, and he heard it from her. Since no one had ever used that term in my circle of friends, I adopted it, and took credit, knowing full well I had no business doing so...haha.

Seems a similar situation has popped up with a much more famous face. In an interview with Noisey, Marilyn Manson, music's resident shock rocker claims to have coined the term "grunge" during his days as an aspiring rock music journalist when he hated everything going on in the music scene.

[It] was on the cusp of grunge and a lot of bands that I used to call 'commonist rock because everyone wanted to be like the common man with the flannel shirts and Pearl Jam and their fight against Ticketmaster and all this horse shit," he said."Nirvana was different. That was one of the bands I covered first as a journalist and Im just going to go ahead and say I coined the term 'grunge in a review of Bleach. Youre welcome.

Ummm we didn't say thank you and we still don't believe you.
