Field Music has always been orchestrally adventurous, but their new LP
Plumb might take their unorthodox riffs to fresh, frenetic heights. Sounding more like Dirty Projectors-level noodling, their latest "A New Town" is a fluid, forceful exploration of falsettos and jumpy basslines. Plus the sound effects at the end are rather suggestive of some parallel activities for listening. In short-- it's an awesome harmonic adventure, and another reason why the full LP should be high on the to-do list for February.
Previously, "(I Keep Thinking About A) New Thing":
Plumb is out 2/14 (2/13 in the UK) on Memphis Industries.
