Usually when we premiere songs and videos, we act as the distributive means of promoting an upcoming release. Today, we're offering a one-of-a-kind treat in support of an incredibly unique band. Instead of crowd sourcing to fund only their music, California-based duo Trapdoor Social
is using their music funds to save the world. The environmentalists' latest endeavor involves installing solar panels on the roof of Homeboy Industries, a non-profit that provides job training to formerly gang-involved men and women. One hundred percent of the funds collected will go towards the project. Check out the details here
But let's get back to business... We're here to share with you the group's bombastic new music video, "First Light". I know what you're thinking; they're passionate about environmental sustainability, so they must be some granola crunching acoustic strummers. But you, my friend, are incorrect. They create pure alternative rock accompanied by exhilarating, guitar-driven peaks, and their animated, war-toned new video accompanies their sound flawlessly.
TRAPDOOR SOCIAL is Merritt Graves and Skylar Funk, and they're here to save the world. Merritt and Skylar met at the Environmental Analysis program at Pomona College in Southern California. By day they studied the challenges for planet Earth, and by night they found refuge in their music.
