Art-rock project Japanther turns on the good vibes with their melodic take on noise punk. Sometimes compared to the Ramones, the two Pratt buddies have gained a cult following for their wacky installation performances and devotion to the New York underground. Watch them float around on bursting plants in this trippy video for "Stolen Flowers."
Noise-punk group Japanther isn't a band so much as an art project. Featured in the 2006 Biennial and participating in all kinds of collaborations and off-the-wall installation performances, Japanther was established by anarchy and graffiti enthusiasts Mark Reilly and Ian Vanek when they attended Pratt together in 2001, and has been gathering a cult following ever since.
