Show Review

Our interest in the retro-leaning, soul outfit Electric Guest was rather instantaneous, thanks to the strength of their shuffling, first single "The Head I Hold". The track is from their Danger Mouse produced album, Mondo. In the run up to its' release, the band recently completed a residency at the Echo in Los Angeles and hit the road to SXSW (we filed a short report). Now the band have a terrorizing new video for a more moodier number, "American Daydream". Here, lead singer Asa Taccone violently stalks party goers for their fancy accessories. We suspected these guys were a cut above the rest in the fashion department. We didn't know this was how it happened.

Mondo will be released on April 24th via Downtown Records. Put a few puzzle pieces together on the band's website for a sneak peek at a few other tracks from the record. It's gonna be a good one.
