Show Review

Driftwood Fire is a rarity in todays media mad world an organically creative female duo whose vivid songwriting and prodigious playing skills display uncommon artistry. The fine, chalky folk and subtle militaristic cadence of their song "Appalachian Hills" gets a beautiful, regionally shot video, courtesy of Steve Roberts at Crescent Sun Pictures.

Artist Bio

Driftwood Fire is a rarity in todays media mad world an organically creative female duo whose vivid songwriting and prodigious playing skills display uncommon artistry. Striking for their balance of variety and seamlessness, and for exceptional storytelling, the duo's captivating live performances have propelled them to the stages of the National Womens Music Festival, the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, Falcon Ridge Emerging Artists showcase and Far-West Folk Alliance Premier showcases. As well as winning them Suggested Artists status in VH-1s Song of the Year contest, first place in this year's Merle Fest Chris Austin Songwriting contest, first place in the International Narrative Song Contest, and an Honorable Mention at the Telluride Troubadour Contest. We love writing and performing and want to give people an experience that slows down time a bit and encourages them to sit back and catch their breath says Scharf, and maybe find a part of themselves in this music, like we did.
