Copenhagen-via-NYC songtress CALLmeKAT teases a national tour with her video for "Sunny Day".
Behind the internationally acclaimed alternative psych-pop of CALLmeKAT stands Copenhagen-based musician, composer and singer Katrine Ottosen.
Ottosen grew up in a forest in the Danish countryside, where she would always find herself secretly drawn towards an old beat up piano. Now later in life her ongoing love for vintage and analog keyboards shines through in her music, infused with an earthy feel and a rare talent for the balance between electric and organic elements.
Her first self-released album (Fall Down/When Owls Are Out) gained fans and followers all over. Even before an international release the music spread continuously through word of mouth.
Word in the press has also spread internationally:
Winning lo-fi pop. Downright bluesy. Interview Magazine
Outstanding voice, delicate musicJust mesmerizing. NPR/All Songs Considered
This Copenhagen musician manages to stand out from the pop star pack. Nylon Magazine
Now CALLmeKAT is embarking on a new chapter for her music: She has finalized the anticipated sophomore album titled 'Where The River Turns Black, collaborating with drummer and producer Joe Magistro (Prophet Omega) and notable bass player Sara Lee (Gang Of Four, B 52s), with guest appearances by pals from the road Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone) and Helgi Jonsson (Sigur Ros).
