Show Review

Well, score one for mid-west hip-hop and the underground rap scene because Minnesota hip-hop group Atmosphere have hit a certified home run. Last year's The Family Sign got fairly mixed reviews so no one could have anticipated the bomb they dropped on Friday. As part of a massive collaborative effort, Atmosphere has released a video for "Became" which may be setting the bar for ridiculous attention to detail. You've got a tightly versed song that may or may not be about werewolves (there's probably some subtext there we're missing) and one of the most artistic and impressive videos this year. It all works within the context of the song's narrative without being too obvious and it is simply delightfully aesthetically pleasing. Even if you don't like hip-hop, this almost borders on rap rock and this music video just has to be seen to be believed.
