Amanda Palmer recorded a chilling cover of "Polly" for SPIN Magazine's tribute issue & compilation to Nirvana's "Nevermind" last year. According to lore, Kurt Cobain's original inspiration for the track stems from a newspaper article about the abduction, torture, and rape of a 14 year old girl. In her new video for her rendition, Amanda Palmer and her Grand Theft Orchestra echo the horrific storyline with a gritty set of visuals to play out to the sparse bass lines, banjo picking, tinkling glockenspiel, and Palmer's icy coo.
