Australian cool girl Jess Kent
recently stopped by the Baeble office to not only chat about her debut EP My Name Is Jess Kent
and touring with Coldplay
, but also to show us her favorite guitar to take on the road. Not only did we get to hear the interesting stories about it - like how she waited until her 21st birthday to buy the guitar and, unlike the last one, it does not
have blood on it - but we also got to see the guitar right in front of us and have Kent play a few chords. We love going behind the history of a musician's instrument, and seeing this mini guitar handcrafted in Australia was extra special. "This one I'm sentimentally attached to now because it's been on tour, it's been at all the shows... Most of the songs on the EP I wrote with this guitar."
Jess Kent is an Australian musician born in the United Kingdom, but raised in Adelaide, Australia. Kent is best known for her debut single, "Get Down". She has also collaborated on the song "1993 (No Chill)" with Paces. Get Down was ranked number 185 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2015 song list.
In December 2016, Kent opened the Oceanian leg for British rock band Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams Tour. She will also open the Asian leg of the tour in March and April 2017
