From the get go, Noelle Scaggs talks of falling in love with "Darkest Street"; a slow burning slice of somber soul Michael Fitzpatrick and collaborator James King had put together for their new outfit, Fitz and The Tantrums. She knew then and there that she had to be a part of the band.

Like Scaggs, we pretty much knew from listen one of their debut Pickin' Up The Pieces that we'd have a full on crush for every single note this electric, LA outfit churn out, which is why it was such a treat to grab a few minutes with the band's two vocalists after an set at the Dave Matthews Band Caravan in Atlantic City. Here, Fitzpatrick and Scaggs talk about the genesis of the skyrocketing soul outfit, and break down their artistic aims when it came to fleshing out the sound they thought people might get behind. I think it's safe to say it worked. Shezam Shezam!
