SNOW DAY: SHOVEL THIS, CLOUDSWEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010
Snow can be a real drag! As some of you know, Snowpocalypse/Snowmageddon/Snowverkill has been raining terror on the East Coast. Most of my colleagues in other offices are at home drinking Vodka and laughing at pictures of me. Boo. Snow barricades people in, makes people lethargic, and then interns don't bring their planned editorial contributions and you can't go get a burrito because you have writing to do! Since the higher-ups rejected my Frosty fan-fiction, and I don't think I can legally screen my film school avant-garde project called Snow Bunnies Meet The Plough, we'll settle for some wintry themed videos from some sad, snowy artists! It's the soundtrack to you not getting out of bed, because your car is submerged in eight feet of snow, and f*ck work dude. It's snowing. It's like nature's way of saying "drink up, stay put, and don't come out until I'm done." Hm, sounds a lot like my childhood.*
Anyway, Here are five songs to be snowed in with. Snow doubt they are in your flakes! (Sorry). As an added bonus, we've scoured Youtube to find funny, well-done** unofficial videos for all of them! Snow way! (Sorry a thousand times). -joe

UPDATE: As the iTunes search for "winter", "cold", and "sleepy" led us to increasingly funnier homemade videos, we just kind of went with it. So bear with us.
"Flume" - Bon Iver
Wisconsin + isolated cabin + sad + snow = Bon Iver. Also peering into the sewer got some serious LOLs from us. WHAT'S IN THE HATCH, SAD WANDERER? Also warning, cheesy end credit music at the end. Prepare your giggle-mobile. Wait that is Neko Case? Nevermind? I guess it seemed odd in comparison: "sad face flume" vs. "man eater".
"White Winter Hymnal" - Fleet Foxes
Major Duh, we have an obvious approaching at our twenty. But seriously, this is the perfect song for a roaring fire and a bottle of whiskey. Double points if you like squiggly landscapes and enhancing things.
"Winter Winds" - Mumford and Sons
Nothing says Mumford and Sons than a color-coordinated gingerbread house setting.
"White Demon Love Song" - The Killers
I have no idea what is going on in this video, but this sounds like it belongs. Actually most of the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack could be applied to this list, but not all of them have such a visionary filmmaker!*
"Sleepyhead" - Passion Pit
Obviously sleeping-in and "Sleepyhead" both apply to snow-days, but when someone throws Disney's Snow White into the mix, it gets cloudy with a chance of LOL.
