T.G.I.MIXTAPE 180 CURATED BY YOUNG BUFFALO
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 05, 2012 | POSTED BY: ANDREW GRUTTADARO
We've been known to feature Young Buffalo, the indie band out of Mississippi, for their vigor, inventiveness, and fresh sound. We're expecting pretty big things from these guys, and we couldn't think of a better duo to curate our Friday mixtape. Get ready for a pretty motley list, and some great comments from Ben Yarbrough and Jim Barrett.
New! Listen to (most of) the mixtape on Spotify!
David Bowie - "Sound and Vision" - Low
I really like the production on this record, and this song in particular. Classic Bowie.
Useless Eaters - "Moody Bitch" - Black Night Ultraviolet EP
Recently heard this song in my buddy's car. I was absolutely floored when I first heard it, and have this song on repeat right now.
Baltimora - "Tarzan Boy" - Living In The Background
The "OH OH OH" hook is insanely catchy, classic eighties nugget. If you don't like this song, maybe you should check your ass because there is something up there.
George Harrison - "Apple Scruffs" - All Things Must Pass
The vocals in this song are some of my favorite. acoustic guitar, harmonica, harmonies, and George is all you need. Done.
Peter Gabriel - "Big Time" - So
You can never have enough Gabriel. Recently heard this, and is one of my favorites of the dude.
DIIV - "How Long Have You Known" - Oshin
I saw these guys at the local Cats Purring Dude Ranch here in Oxford, MS last spring. I was pretty impressed with their live show, but was blown away when I heard their record. Good shit.
King Tuff - "Bad Thing" - King Tuff
I just like it because it's buck as shit. Gimme that guitar solo...
2 Chainz feat. Kanye West - "Birthday Song" - Based on a T.R.U. Story
The video for this song is insane, and I caught a show of his last week. All I want is a big booty ho, bro.
Junk Culture feat. Sarah Barthel - "Chippewa Kids" - Hang Roxy
George Michael - "Careless Whisper" - Ladies and Gentlemen... The Best of George Michael
Sweet, sweet saxophone sex in a public restroom with a hobo.Article By: Andrew Gruttadaro
