Embed For Keds continues! If you weren't with us last week, here's what you've been missing out on. In honor of the recent makeover we gave our site, Baeble has teamed up with the equally stylish folks at Keds
to offer you the unique opportunity to score yourself a free pair of kicks, and check out some awesome live video filmed in Austin during SXSW '10 along the way. For the next two weeks we'll continue releasing performances (perhaps you saw Surfer Blood rock Emo's last week
) from some of the most exciting bands to take over Austin during this year's festival. Today we continue with a band from our home town.
Brooklyn is a place for innovation; perhaps why the brooding, krautrock drones of Bear In Heaven
fit in nicely with the loft spaces and hordesof hip kids. Their most recent record, Beast Rest Forth Mouth
garnered critical acclaim on all fronts
, and for good reason. In a town full of bear bands, their tunes are unique, multifaceted, and super fresh (even if they are super intense).
And in a town full of other shoes, here's another chance to be unique and super-fresh: a brand new pair of Keds kicks, courtsey of Baeble. Here's how to get 'em:
- Sign into Baeblemusic.com using Facebook Connect. Please register if this is your first time using the site.
- Go to the the Embed For Keds concert and hit the yellow "Share to Facebook Button" or Facebook icon on the share to menu. After you share with Facebook, make sure that you enter your email address in our remaining pop window, so we can notify you if you win.
OR Leave a Facebook comment letting us know what you think about the concert. We'll contact you through Facebook if you win.
- That's all, you're entered to win!
- Contest ends on Monday, 5/24. Good Luck!!
That's it! You'll be automatically entered into our Embed For Keds contest!
Winners will be chosen on Monday, May 24th. - Good Luck!
Brooklyn, NY-based indie rock outfit Bear in Heaven were formed in 2002 by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jon Philpot. The group's penchant for modern, Krautrock-inspired slabs of '70s prog rock has drawn comparisons to everyone from Pink Floyd to Animal Collective. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Philpot dabbled in other projects before settling on Bear in Heaven with fellow transplanted Southerners Adam Wills, Sadek Bazaara, and Joe Stickney. The band released its debut EP, Tunes Nextdoor to Songs, in 2004, followed by the seven-track, 43-minute Red Bloom of the Boom in 2007. Beast Rest Forth Mouth appeared in late October of 2009
