Last fall we brought you behind the lens of The Good Music Club
, an Austin, Texas-based showcase of brilliant performers who embody the city's vibrant music culture. Over the course of the next several months we'll regularly showcase another batch of incredible artists from the live music capitol of the world. Today, we shine a light on Wiretree
; a Texas four-piece that melds hints of the Shins, Brendan Benson, Elliot Smith, The Decemberists and Wilco for an evocative listen. Its folky with just enough electric crunch and emotional undertones thatll sock you in the gut. Have a listen and discover one of Austins best local exports.
Wiretree is an indie rock band from Austin, Texas led by Kevin Peroni. Initially a solo project based on homemade recordings, Peroni released Bouldin in 2007, and later recruited other band members to solidify the project. Four albums later, the band has been featured on Satellite Sets (an Austin City Limits live taping), toured Europe and played numerous music festivals including SXSW and Chinas biggest music festival, the Strawberry Music Festival.
