It's that time again; time to transport you down to the intimate arts scene of Austin, TX with a presentation by the Good Music Club
. This week's edition of Good Music Wednesday brings us Austin by-way-of Seattle solo artist Jack Wilson
, who offers a refreshing mixture of Pacific Northwest folk with his new home's rootsy Americana rock. Performing songs like "Valhalla", Wilson and his backing band take you on a brilliantly textured and emotive journey.
Jack Wilson and friends recorded six songs of an album at Fluff and Gravy Studio in Portland during summer of 2012, somewhere between a whirlwind tour of the US. To finish things out, the Austinite via Seattle stopped in to Werd Recording Suite for some overdubs and some new cuts to round out the Portland recordings. From one show to the next, you may see Wilson performing solo, or with a variety of instrumentalists including horns, piano, Hammond organ, and any number of funky old guitars.
