Show Review

Josh Legg, a Los Angeles-based producer, creates dreamy, upbeat tunes under the name Goldroom. While singer Mereki Beach is normally only featured on recent single "Only You Can Show Me", she (along with a percussionist) joined Legg for an energetic set performed at Austin's Hype Hotel.

Beach's vocals actually perfectly complemented many of Goldroom's other songs, nearly stealing the show from Legg's precise synths and looping guitar. Goldroom has a way of letting the shimmering atmosphere build before breaking into radiant dancey grooves. Check out our 30-minute concert capture, featuring powerful tracks with otherworldly production that may just have you moving (and stripping) like Beach.

Oho, oho We're driving through the city of life Into the lights
And we're looking for a way to get high until we find oho, oho, oho, oho
Sweetness alive, in diamond light
The luxury of you in paradise in diamond light
Sweetness alive, in diamond light
The luxury of having you by my side The luxury of you in paradise
The luxury of you in paradise The luxury of having you by my side
We swept this town away It's in your eyes today
We swept this town away It's in your eyes today
Set us free We're dancing in the fields of the life
It's all surprise And we're looking for a way to get high
Until we find Sweetness alive, in diamond light
The luxury of you in paradise

The luxury of you in paradise

Did you have to leave so soon? Didn't want to make you run around
Because it seems I've tripped up once again I'm lying down again
Staring up into a cloud of questions, why blurry visions of tired eyes
Got a lot of things that I need to say
Got a lot of things that I need to find a way to rest my head
Just try to clear my eyes
Why'd I let you walk away? Why'd I let you walk away?
Because I'm thinking it's you I've been thinking about you every day
I see you walking round my way So easy to get to your embrace
It's like you never went away Glow, like you can't escape the rays
You're brave enough to save the day Love hoping we can make it fade
Come on through to your embrace Did you have to leave so soon?
Didn't wanna make you run around because it seems I've tripped up once again
Now I'm lying down again Staring up into a cloud of questions
Why Blurry visions of tired eyes
Got a lot of things that I need to say Got a lot of things that I need to
Find a way to rest my head Just try to clear my eyes

It's good to be here, guys.
It's been a long time, wondering why the summer smells like sin and wonder
Feels like it got inside of a place and time I dream about when I'm walking
I'll let us always
The summer sun I can't go back to The touch of your skin on my skin
Look away the sun's above us Like you know we'll look back up in time
But we were only fifteen, fifteen we're floating through the slipstream
You're with me, we were only fifteen fifteen just floating
through the slipstream
It's been a long time wondering why the summer smells like sin and wonder

We were only fifteen, fifteen floating through the slipstream

I used to friend with trees
I have a call I close my eyes and wait for the echo
And you came in a hurricane, I watched you in the dark
Never seen nothing like it, No one has matched the spark
I used to follow you follow you for days I slept beside you just shadows away
I watched you by the fire, your hands was all aglow
Under the spell of a circle, I let my face show
Oh my heart is like an eagle, I love to fall from the sky
It's so beautiful, I see right through the water's edge
And I love your hands, I let them lead me into the cage
So tender but your body was warm and so frail
But your eyes like mine, The color of ice
Oh my heart is like an eagle, I love to fall from the sky
It's so beautiful, I see right through the water's edge
And I love your hands, I let them lead me into the cage
So tender but your body was warm
So frail, But your eyes like mine, The color of ice
The color of ice
The color of The color of
