Show Review

Colony House set up shop at Baeble HQ, dropping by with acoustic twinklers from their breakout debut,When I Was Younger. Performing as part of our Bands and Brews Sessions, the Nashville outfit paired down scrumptious indie pop to acoustic roots, charming an intimate gathering of CMJ revelers in the Baeble basement. On record, tunes like "Silhouettes", "Learning How To Love", and "Waiting For My Time To Come" are festival-made, building and souring to dramatic precipices. You can almost hear the roar of the crowd. In this particular session, the band is all about intimacy. Our latest session is just you and the band in a room, revealing beauty and emotion for your ears only.

- Hello.
Hey guys, we are very excited to have Colony House here, who's going to play us a few songs.
Take it away, guys.
- Alrighty.
This song's called Silhouettes.
Are you half empty? Why don't you fill up?
There's no sense in holding onto something broken.
Did you lose something? Or someone you love?
You've still got that story tell it every morning.
Drivin' down a road, down a road that's rollin'
All the other memories your heart's been holdin'.
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on.
Drivin' down a road, down a road that's hidden,
All the faithful memories, your faith for livin'
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on.
So come on!
Nothing is perfect, For that there's no cure,
So don't you start to bury the good with the bad, and the ugly,
Drivin' down a road, down a road that's rollin'
All the other memories your heart's been holdin'.
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on.
Drivin' down a road, down a road that's hidden,
All the faithful memories, your faith for livin'
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on.
So come on!
And I can feel your heartbeat slipping away
It's hard to catch the light when you're running from the day!
So wait for it! Wait for it! Wait!
Drivin' down a road, down a road that's rollin'
All the other memories your heart's been holdin'
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on.
Drivin' down a road, down a road that's hidden,
All the faithful memories, your faith for livin'
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on.
So come on!
- Thank you.
Thank ya, We're Colony House.
We're from Nashville Tennessee.
We've been all over the place today, so it's nice to, I mean it's challenging.
We're going from place to place changing moods and everything else.
But this is nice.
It's a nice chill mood, so I'll take this.
It's nice.
This song is one of our older ones.
It's called, "Learning How to Love" Say, They say that trust it takes time
That it's a mountain to climb I think that I am the reason why
I've been waiting for Things to change in my heart again
I've been changing While waiting on
Keep taking steps for you I've been changing
But I'm still learning how to love.
Take me I feared that love wouldn't take me
I feared that grace was a maybe I feared the cost of my broken words
Trust me You took my hand and said trust me
You took my heart and said love me With who you are
Not with who you were
I've been waiting for Things to change in my heart again I've
been changing While waiting on
Keep taking steps for you I've been changing
But I'm still learning how to love I'm still learning how to love
Oh, these storms I know These battles of the soul
The scars, they start to show While learning how to love
I've been waiting for Things to change in my heart
I've been changing While waiting on
Keep taking steps for you I've been changing
But I'm still learning how to love I'm still learning how to love
I'm still learning how to love
- Thank you.
Alrighty.
I must confess, I didn't expect there to be people here.
I just thought we were coming to play for cameras, so it's a nice surprise to have humans.
This song is called, "Waiting for My Time to Come.
" It's kind of grown to be one of our favorites and it sounds better in tune, so if you'll be patient.
Today is not my day.
I don't have the cards to play.
I've settled down, I've learned,
Be patient now, Let the fire burn.
I'm just waiting on the seasons to change, waiting for the curtain to fall.
I could lose my cool like a restless fool but I'm waiting for my time to come
I've tried, I've failed.
I thought I gave my all.
Now it's hard to tell.
Is this the end of this dream I've lost?
Or just an introduction to how much it may cost?
I'm just waiting on the seasons to change, waiting for the curtain to fall.
I could lose my cool like a restless fool but I'm waiting for my time to come
Yes, I'm waiting for my time to come.
I'm still waiting for my time to come.
Oh, it seems so complicated.
It feels like hope has faded.
When I know it's just the way that we grow.
I cannot control. No.
So, I'll wait here when my light is low
I can give a little time for this dream to grow
So, I'll wait here when my light is low
I'm just waiting on the seasons to change, waiting for the curtain to fall
I could lose my cool like a restless fool
But I'm waiting for my time to come
Yes, I'm waiting for my time to come.
I'm still waiting for my time to come
- Thank you.
Are you half empty? Why don't you fill up?
There's no sense in holdin' onto something broken.
