Show Review

Riding golden chords, impeccable harmonies and lyrical imagery steeped in pools of naturalistic beauty, Husky traveled to Austin Texas last Spring, hunkering down at The Launch Pad for a performance of songs from their recently released debut, Forever So. Taking in their music, the Australian quartet usher listeners to similar, imaginative worlds as their Pacific Northwest counterparts (and label mates) Fleet Foxes. Press your eyes tight and I bet you'll see some creaky cabin in a mossy, rotting wood forest, light filtering through the canopies casting pools of color on the forest bed. But Husky also put their own unique spin on their their musica touch of desert dry psychedelia that make songs like "The Woods", "Dark Sea" and "Hundred Dollar Suit" a folk-lined wormhole worth falling in to. Forever So was released early this summer via Sub Pop and is one of the more underrated plays you'll come across this year. Here, the band brings selections from that collection to The Launch Pad; a stunning, American debut from a young band we're rather excited to have had to opportunity to point our cameras at.
