Show Review
We knew The Kin penned flawless music fit for sweet Manhattan spring evenings. And with droves of dizzy devotees queuing down Delancey for the duo's show at The Bowery Ballroom, apparently the rest of New York City did as well. It's a good thing though. With the help of cathartic chords, balmy electric piano, and honeyed harmonies, Aussie born brothers Isaac and Thorry Koren squeeze drop after drop of sentiment and romance from emotionally waterlogged songs.
Joined for this sold out performance on stage by Shakerleg - a finger snapping, bull of a percussionist - and both a black clad violinist and cellist, the brother's dewy-eyed song craft takes on a contrasting life of it's own as it is set to rough and tumble cadences and orchestral finish and flourish. - David Pitz
