  • EMINEM, FOO FIGHTERS, COLDPLAY, MUSE, MY MORNING JACKET DEADMAU5, AND A PERFECT CIRCLE TO HEADLINE LOLLAPALOOZA 2011
Born 20 years ago out of punk rock will and unbridled passion, Lollapalooza has rocked through the parks, amphitheaters and fairgrounds of America, leaving memorable musical moments in its wake. Now, at its home in the Windy City, Lollapalooza will bring alumni and worthy newcomers together for three rollicking days August 5-7 - to celebrate the festival's 20th Anniversary edition led by Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, My Morning Jacket, deadmau5, A Perfect Circle, Cee Lo Green, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley & Nas, The Cars and Ween.

The 2011 bill is also loaded with acts from electronica to hip-hop, rock to avant-garde, and all the sounds in between, like Bright Eyes, Arctic Monkeys, Big Audio Dynamite, Deftones, Beirut, Explosions in the Sky, Death From Above 1979, Ratatat, Crystal Castles, Flogging Molly, Atmosphere, Cold War Kids and Lykke Li.
Other must-see artists on the 130-band strong lineup include Local Natives, Two Door Cinema Club, Chicago's own Smith Westerns, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, The Vaccines, Foster the People, Portugal. The Man and Best Coast. For those who missed the inaugural Lollapalooza Chile, the cultural exchange will come full circle with Chilean acts including Chico Trujillo, Los Bunkers and Ana Tijoux.

Perrys, the non-stop electronic and dance music stage, will up the ante once again this year with an even bigger footprint and a monster line-up topped by Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Kid Cudi, Skrillex, Bloody Beet Roots, Glitch Mob, and Afrojack. Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell will also be making a performance on his signature stage under the moniker of PerryEtty vs. Chris Cox. "Muscular beats," Farrell says, "That's the theme. Our new tent houses fifteen thousand people at once."

About the 20th anniversary, Farrell is both nostalgic and enthusiastic. "As excited as I am to watch this year's legends perform at Lolla, I am also feeling the enthusiasm for the younger groups who are just now breaking. I take great delight in knowing that for the past 20 years we've given so many new artists a prestigious stage and a massive audience to play in front of."

To gear up for this celebration two decades in the making, the festival launched an interactive Time Capsule at lollapalooza.com showcasing iconic Lolla moments over the years in context with social, political and pop-cultural happenings. Fans can click thru to relive each year of Lollapalooza through music, video, photos & more.

Music won't be the only item on the menu at Lollapalooza. Four-star Chicago chef and restaurateur Graham Elliot will be returning as the festival's Culinary Director, overseeing appetites and ensuring that Chow Town is once again a gastronomic paradise reflecting the unique flavors of Chicago.

Early Bird tickets went on sale March 29th and sold out in an unprecedented flash. Regular priced tickets are available for $215 while supplies last. VIP Passes and Travel Packages are also available. A limited number of Single Day tickets will go on sale June 7th.

Lollapalooza happens August 5-7, 2011 in the heart of Chicago at Grant Park.

Complete line-up, tickets and show information are available at http://www.lollapalooza.com. To keep up with all the special 20th Anniversary activities in store for this year, follow Lollapalooza on Facebook and Twitter.
