Marissa was born around the time "Scarface" was released. She ended up being very taken by all the Disney music as a kid, and theme songs to tv shows etc. Which is funny, because there's a certain jaunty quality to her music, along with a wistful sadness. Did the piano lessons, etc. Started getting into Green Day and fronted a couple of rock bands. Finally, she realized, when she sat down with just an acoustic guitar or piano she would feel many of her influences coming out. Whe has said that she's more of a "rocker" this way, becuase whe's doing it her way, and that's more of the rock attitude.
