After the breakup of post-rock band On!Air!Library!, multi-instrumentalist Philip Wann joined forces with guitarist Jay Giampietro. The two began writing wistful, cinematic music, and soon finalized a lineup including drummer Brad Conroy, bassist Lukas Alpert, and vocalist Amanda Garret. Daylight's for the Birds was born.

The band’s debut LP, Trouble Everywhere, was released on This Generation Tapes in Fall 2006.
